Rhoades Announces $50,000 State
Grant for Schuylkill County Fire Training School
HARRISBURG -- The state Department of Community and Economic Development has
awarded a $50,000 grant to the Schuylkill County Fire Training School for
facility maintenance and repairs, according to Senator James J. Rhoades (R-29).
"Since its creation in 1992, the Schuylkill County Fire Training School has
offered training to over 14,000 firefighters," Rhoades said. "Our volunteer
fire companies and personnel deserve the best training and facilities that we
can offer them, and I'm sure this funding will be put to good use."
Rhoades said the vision for the Fire Training Center is to become the premier
fire training school in Pennsylvania by providing state-of-the-art training
facilities, equipment and high quality programs led by the best instructors
available.
